Universal health care petition submitted
By Boston Herald staff/Local briefs
Thursday, December 4, 2003
An initiative petition to advocate health insurance for all Massachusetts
residents was filed with the secretary of state yesterday - moving it
closer to the 2006 ballot.
The universal health-care petition, which would amend the state constitution,
is the only one of eight proposed petitions to submit the 65,825 signatures
required by the Elections Division.
If the signatures are approved, the petition must be passed by the next
two constitutional conventions before it reaches the ballot.
